On SsangYong’s relaunch in the UK this September, it will offer a range of top-quality, high-value models, which include the new Korando crossover. This highly versatile and efficient crossover features European styling and costs only £16,995. The Korando is developed to be an entry into the fast-growing crossover sector. It has a high riding position and also boasts of an all-weather, off road ability as well as compact dimensions, low emissions and cheap running costs.
The all-new Korando is known to have the best in class value with its pricing and comprehensive specifications compared to rivals like the Hyundai ix35, Kia Sportage, Mitsubishi ASX and Nissan Qashqai. Korando owes its visual appeal to Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design, a famous Italian car designer. The bodywork is muscular but is still svelte and it also has a monocoque platform that makes the vehicle very competent when being handled off road.
It’s as practical as a 4x4/SUV and as accessible as a family hatchback. Paul Williams, CEO of the UK importer, SsangYong Motor UK, said that Korando has a “great value” and enters the market at just the “right time.“ Korando also offers outstanding towing capability and with its long wheelbase, it has a spacious and airy interior, making it a good choice for families and for those who tow a caravan, horsebox or trailer. SsangYong will offer several trim levels, two gearboxes and the option of either front or four wheel drive. An advanced 173bhp 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo diesel engine powers these models. It produces 360Nm of torque and CO2 emissions of only 157g/km.
