SSC Ultimate Aero II

SSC's new 1,200hp sports car weighs a third less than a Bugatti Veyron. There is no limit to what this vehicle can achieve. Driving it well takes a certain type of skill since one would have to make the most of torque, considering that there’s no traction control. An extravagant wheelspin is produced in the first three gears and occasionally in fourth when going beyond 100mph. But that’s how the original car is described.

This white car in the gallery is its replacement but its name has yet to be revealed. It’s expected to feature some vital driver aids, but it will offer 150hp more, improved aerodynamics, and would definitely be lighter.

Priced at $970,000, or £626,000 plus tax, this vehicle is expected to go on sale late next year. The carmaker claims that this car can reach a top speed of 275mph. The competition for offering the top speed is well and good but at some point, it stops being relevant. For instance, does anyone drive at these speeds? Besides, other performance aspects are compromised such as normal-speed agility and the fact that weight will be added. [source Autoblog via MotorAuthority
