Strattec reveals first padlock to open with car key

Have you ever thought about how convenient it would be to have only one key for all your locks? Strattec Security Corp.‚ product does just that. Strattec has just launched a series of locks that open with the key used with a car, SUV, or truck.
This product is aimed to attract off-road enthusiasts, auto buffs, outdoorsmen or people who simply don’t like the hassle of carrying many keys. Last month, the BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) Series locks were presented at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas where it made quite an impression. Continued after the jump!
The product was given two awards and was named one of the show's best new products by both the SEMA Global Media panel and the Light Truck Accessory Alliance.
The BOLT locks have an automotive-style cylinder which allows users to insert their car key. After the key is turned for the first time, the locks get programmed and will only open with that key. These locks also have the highest corrosion resistance rating.
And these locks are also nearly impossible to pick. Strattec Director of New Market Development Mike Long said that the company expects much interest in this product among a variety of users, specifically “auto/truck enthusiasts, outdoorsmen, contractors and fleet managers."
