The strike at Volkswagen Mexican subsidiary has finally ended last Saturday after management representatives agreed to give in to the workers demands. Union official Victor Jaime Cervantes said that the union members will return to work this Saturday. In a press release, Volkswagen said that it will give workers a 3% raise and a one-time cash payment. It was reported that the strike has disrupted shipments of Jettas and New Beetles to the United States. Volkswagen, one of Mexico's biggest manufacturers, has been hit hard by the U.S. recession. Mexico's auto output fell 25% last July when compared to the previous year. [via autonews]
