The scope of Subaru’s STi performance brand will be expanded as the automaker launches more models. One of these models is the Forester TS, which was presented at the Moscow motor show. The Subaru Forester TS, which has an aggressive interior and exterior styling such as STi badging, has only been available in Japan previously. This model has a reworked suspension with STi sport springs and shock absorbers. Powering it is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder boxer engine that delivers 259bhp and 256lb ft of torque. A source told Autocar that Subaru is hoping to leverage its STi brand more and that the move to make the Forester TS available in Russia was a test of the market before it launches more products. The source also said that Russia is the “perfect market” to test the sales of the bolder Forester. He said that it’s apparent that STi's abilities and experience could be received well on other cars in other markets. He said that it would be reasonable to extend the reach of the WRX projects when there’s a high demand.
