Suzuki Motor Corporation is set to present the G70 Concept at the 82nd Geneva Motor Show in March. The concept showcases the new vision for a compact vehicle that combines elaborated dynamics and minimized weight. It weighs 730kg only and has a drag coefficient of over 10% lower than a current Suzuki 'A' segment model. Due to the overall reduction of weight as well as the utilization of a highly efficient petrol engine, emissions of carbon dioxide are as low as 70g/km as measured in the European Driving Cycle.
Suzuki's latest development in hybrid vehicle technology -- the Swift Range Extender -- will also be on display. It was first revealed at the 2010 Geneva Show.
It has undergone further development since then, resulting to a 100% improvement in battery driving range to 30km. The Swift Range Extender uses a generator and a highly efficient 660cc three-cylinder petrol engine as sources of power. It has a more compact lithium-ion battery compared with a traditional Electric Vehicle that depends solely on battery power. The lithium-ion battery charges quickly, weighs less, costs less and uses fewer resources.
