After we saw the Honda New Small Concept, another vehicle was unveiled at the New Dehli Motor Show: the Suzuki R3 MPV Concept. The new six-seater is based on a stretched SX4 platform and was developed in order to face the popular Toyota Innova. According to the manufacturer, this new MPV will hit the market somewhere in 2012, because the development of the production version will take almost 24 months. Regarding the engine, the new car is expected to carry Maruti Suzuki's K-series petrol engine in 1.2 and 1.4-litre variants but a Fiat-derived 1.3-liter diesel engine is also a possibility. As you may know already, Volkswagen bought a 19.9% stake in Suzuki and this means there is a big possibility to see a German powerplant under the hood of this new MPV.
