Suzuki Swift R Concept revealed ahead of 2011 Beijing Motor Show

Suzuki Swift R Concept

Suzuki revealed today the first photo with the Swift R Concept, a new car that anticipates the new Swift Sport. Set to make its debut at the 2011 Beijing Motor Show, the new car is inspired by the GSX-R 1000 motorcycle, featuring a stylish front bumper with larger air intakes, extended front and rear fenders, as well as a new rear roof spoiler and new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and exhaust system.

The design of the car is completed by a new set of black 5-spoke alloy wheels. Although we don’t have any details or photos regarding the interior, expect to find a new set of Recaro sports buckets, a sports steering wheel as well as a new dashboard with sporty accents.

There are no details regarding the engine used by this sporty hatchback, but due to the fact that Volkswagen acquired a 19.9% stake in Suzuki, we can anticipate that the car will use an engine found in the Vw lineup. Which means that the car could receive a 1.4 TSI petrol engine delivering 150 hp but also the more powerful 1.4 TFSI petrol engine found on the new Audi A1, delivering an impressive 185 hp. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed DGS dual-clutch gearbox. [via Autoblog.it]
