Scion xB Tuner by Peter Colell breaks cover at SEMA

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

ScionScion has given three of the most innovative and creative visionaries the opportunity to showcase their talents through three project vehicles shown at the SEMA Auto Show. The xB Tuner Challenge was participated in by Peter Colello of Mummbles Marketing, Bowls LA, and Eneri Abillar, who is working with Leigh Guarnieri from BRS Autodesign.

The year 2002 was significant for Peter Colello who established his name that year with his work on the Toyota Celica GT 2002 and a 2001 Ford Focus ZTS. At the xB Tuner Challenge, Colello sought to build a well-rounded show car with pure functionality, building and expanding from past projects. Colello added elements such as a wide-body kit, lots of carbon-fiber in the hood, hatch, wing and custom roof, and a color motif of teal. In addition, the car has a turbo kit, air-ride suspension, and TRD exhaust. Of course, Colello put in one of his signatures – an over-the-top in-car entertainment system. 2010 Camaro Graphics revealed at the SEMA Show

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

2010 Chevrolet Camaro GraphicsChevrolet launched a graphics campaign last month asking Camaro enthusiasts to vote for their favorite design from several accessory graphics packages. The top four designs were produced and brought to the SEMA Show.

A Silver Ice Metallic Camaro will wear those designs on different days. When the convention ends, another round of voting will be conducted and the winner will be considered for future production. Brent Dewar, vice president of Chevrolet, said that Camaro has thousands of fans on the social media sites and that this is one way for the company to stay connected to its customers. Dewar expects voting to be close. He says though that the “real winners” will be the customers who personalize their Camaro with the winning graphics package. Already, the Camaro Graphics display vehicle, which is located prominently in the GM display at the SEMA Convention, has attracted much attention.

SEMA 2009: Kogi xD Mobile Kitchen by MV Designs

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

KogiDoes the idea of a mobile kitchen interest you? Then you should definitely visit the display from Scion and MV Designs at the SEMA Motor Show. If you’re from Los Angeles then you would find this familiar. The car unerringly pays homage to the roaming Kogi Korean BBQ truck that offers a combination of Korean with Mexican food.

The show car does the deed by fitting all the required equipment for beers and a barbeque into every nook and cranny of a Scion Kogi xD. How Scion and MV Designs got the inspiration to make such a car is anybody’s guess. Instead of rear seats, there is a fridge incorporated into the left rear door and an ice chest and sink fitted to the right rear door. At the rear, there is a griddle that can be used to cook burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, sweetcorn, etc. In front of that is a 10-inch monitor with utensils pinched from the left taillight and finished off by condiments stored in the right. Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Rod Hall Racing Hummer H3 AlphaWhen someone asks what could be the ultimate HUMMER stock-class desert racing machine, many will say that it’s the Rod Hall Racing HUMMER H3 Alpha. The H3 Alpha is deep in preparation to participate in the 2009 SCORE International Baja 1000 in the hyper-competitive full-size stock class.

Chad Hall will be behind the wheel of the H3 Alpha, the first stock class vehicle to finish in the 2007 and 2008 Baja 1000 and 2008 Baja 500. Team founder and namesake Rod Hall will also be entering his mid-size stock H3 in the 2009 Baja 1000. Rod’s eldest son Josh Hall, who happens to be the 2007 Baja 1000 mini-stock class winner, will be his partner. Rod Hall Racing Team HUMMER competes in the stock class, which features production-based vehicles with stock frames, stock suspension designs and production-based engines.
