2010 Camaro-based Pontiac Trans AMMany fans mourned the death of the Pontiac but they have all but put thoughts of the factory-built Firebird Trans Am behind them. You can just imagine how the news of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering’s decision to resurrect the car based on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was received.

Texas-based Lingenfelter is well-known for having tuned various GM vehicles from Corvette Z06’s to the new Camaro. Its latest creation is a resurrection of the Pontiac Trans Am to be shown at SEMA Show. The Trans Am is based on the new Camaro, but with major modifications to hold the car to the original Pontiacs. 2010 Chevrolet Camaro to receive the ‘Phoenix’ Trans Am conversion kit

2010 Chevrolet Camaro Phoenix Trans AmOrder details, pricing and delivery information are still hazy but the news that the Phoenix T/A will soon be coming to life is so exciting that we just have to share it. Trans Am Depot announced that it is partnering with designer Kevin Morgan to complete a one-off Kevin Morgan “Trans Am” Concept, which will be unveiled at the 2009 Trans Am Nationals.

The first production conversion will follow later this year. It will vary from the concept car but will be an exact version of the conversion kits to be offered this fall. Trans Am is working closely with a Detroit auto design firm to bring this kit to market. It will be offering everything from the body conversion only to the limited Phoenix Edition.
