2010 Lexus GX460After the leaked photos we saw yesterday, Lexus officially unveiled today the all-new, second-generation GX 460! According to the manufacturer, the new vehicle promises to be more powerful, more efficient, quieter and more luxurious than the GX 470 model it replaces. For those who don’t know, the new car is positioned the brand’s LX 570 premium luxury utility vehicle and unibody-based RX models.

Under the hood we find the new 4.6-liter V8 that is both more powerful and more efficient than the 4.7-liter V8 it replaces. The engine delivers an impressive 301 horsepower and 329 lb.-ft. of peak torque while connected to a new six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift. Lexus promises an improved fuel economy to about 13 percent to an EPA-estimated 17 mpg (vs. 15 mpg in the 2009 GX 470) — better than other V8 luxury utility vehicles and competitive with some six-cylinder models (The GX 460 has an EPA-estimated 15 mpg city and 20 mpg highway). Also, the 2010 GX 460 comes with a new, more versatile interior: we have new luxury options such as semi-aniline leather, a heated steering wheel, and heated outer second-row seats as well as new multimedia features, in order to expand onboard family entertainment choices. More details and photos after the jump!
