Official: 2010 Saleen S281 Mustang

2010 Saleen S281 MustangThe latest contraption to come out of Saleen Performance Vehicles is the 2010 Saleen S281 Mustang currently on display at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas . So far this year, the S281 has been the second Saleen vehicle launched. Last August, the 2010 435S was introduced.

The new S281 is based on the 2010 Ford Mustang, which was given both styling and engine modifications. Mike Shields, CEO of Saleen Performance Vehicles, said that his team did a “terrific job” and that he is proud to offer this car to customers. Continued after the jump!

2010 Saleen S281This is the first full look that’s available of the new 2010-spec Saleen S281 Mustang courtesy of Brad Barnett. Previously, everyone got a sneak peek when pictures were posted on Saleen’s Flickr page in early October.

But viewing these recent pictures only made us like the vehicle more. It’s notable that Saleen’s designers have succeeded at retaining much of the design language that made previous versions of the S281 so popular while updating the style sufficiently to properly flow with the lines of the 2010 Mustang. 2010 Saleen S281 Mustang teased ahead of SEMA Show

2010 Saleen S281 MustangSaleen Performance Vehicles will debut the 2010 Saleen S281 Mustang at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas early next month. Actually, the newly formed Saleen has released its first 2010-based Mustang, the 435S, the past summer. Unfortunately, it didn’t get raves due to the lack of any significant design upgrades.

Do you think that Saleen has learned its lesson this time around? Feel free to check out Saleen’s Flickr page, which bears three photos that give a decent look at the front and rear of the car. We find that what Saleen has done to the 2010 Stang’s controversial rear with the elongated tail and the diffuser-style rear valence is remarkable. Photos after the jump!
