Thursday, August 27th, 2009

2011 Chevrolet Camaro ConvertibleAfter much dillydallying, General Motors appears to have decided to bring the convertible variant of the new Chevrolet Camaro as a 2011 model year instead of 2012. Fans have been kept in suspense as GM was indecisive about the car’s market launch date.

A Camaro5 forum member at GM Holden’s e Fishermans Bend plant in Melbourne, Australia, took these scoop photographs of completely undisguised Camaro Convertible models, which appear to be production-ready. 2010 Chevrolet Camaro ConvertibleAn official letter was sent by General Motors today to dealers informing them of a thirty-day production delay for the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro beginning March 16 this year. The message explained that the reason for the delay is neither legal nor economic, but simply GM’s desire that the “Camaro exceeds the highest quality benchmarks.”

A member of the forum at Camaro5 who is said to have the directive told that the Camaro convertible, which was reported shelved two months ago, will be available for sale as a 2011 model.
