2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 V8Ford Motor Co. has finally revealed the full details of the 2011 Ford Mustang GT. According to its official specifications, the car is equipped with a new 5.0 liter V8 engine that uses 4 valves per cylinder and Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT), producing 412 HP and 390 lb-ft (529 Nm) of torque.

Its old five-speed transmissions will also be replaced with either the MT82 six-speed manual transmission or the 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission. Ford should be lauded because with the automatic transmission, the 2011 GT’s fuel consumption figures will be 25 MPG (9.4 l/100 km) for the highway and 17 (13.8 l/100 km) MPG in the city. 2011 Ford Mustang breaks cover ahead of LA Auto Show

2011 Ford MustangAs you may know already, tomorrow the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show opens its gates and the manufacturers are already starting to reveal their new models.

After we saw the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze U.S.-version, today Ford presented the 2011 Mustang, a refreshed version of the legendary muscle car that will offer an extra driving pleasure, according to the manufacturer. The new 2011 Ford Mustang V6 will offer an optional factory-installed Performance Package, combining high-tech horsepower and a taut suspension in a package. Continued after the jump!

2011 Ford Mustang powertrain updates to be revealed at the LA Auto Show

2011 Ford MustangFord is engrossed in a swirl of activity involved in preparing for the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show this December. Aside from officially introducing the US-spec Fiesta, Ford will also be unveiling the 2011 Ford Mustang.

Until the show starts, Ford will have media knocking on its door to ask for specifics about the latest Mustang. At the Fox Car Report held last week on FoxNews, Ford’s global product development chief, Derrick Kuzak, had appeared and disappointingly, did not appease our curiosity towards the Mustang model. Kuzak skirted around the topic, only saying that he will only let us in on the details in December. He apparently intends to allow the rumors to remain unconfirmed. We’ve heard reports that we should expect a new, more powerful, 300+ horsepower base V6, along with the widely-expected 400-horsepower 5.0-liter V8. There’s also speculation that there will be an aluminum-block version of the 5.4-liter supercharged V8 for the 2011 Shelby GT500.
