BMW ActiveHybrid X6 coming to the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show

For greater driving pleasure combined with enhanced fuel efficiency and CO2 management, BMW is offering its ActiveHybrid technology. The BMW ActiveHybrid X6 boasts of having improved driving dynamics and a 20% reduction in fuel consumption compared to a vehicle powered by a combustion engine alone.
It has a drive system that consists of a 400 hp twin-turbocharged, High Precision Direct Injection, V8 gasoline engine and two electric synchronous motors delivering 91 hp and 86 hp, respectively. The car has recorded a maximum system output of 480 hp, and peak torque of 575 lb-ft. The BMW ActiveHybrid X6 has precisely controlled interaction of the three power units and this optimizes the overall efficiency of the BMW ActiveHybrid X6 at all speeds. Continued after the jump!
