G-Powers makes the old M3 E46 faster than the new model

Friday, July 10th, 2009

G-Power Bmw M3 E46Two previous generation ‘M’ sports cars, the M3 E46 and the Z4M, get a revamp in a package that’s somewhat weird than what the German company is famous for. This tuning program includes a large ASA TM I 20 centrifugal supercharger that enhances the M3 and Z4M 3.2-liter straight-six engine’s output from 343 hp and 365 Nm to 450 hp and 450 Nm or 331.9 lb-ft of torque.

The 107 horsepower boost helps improve acceleration from standstill to 200km/h or 124 mph from the standard M3 E46 Coupe’s 18,1 seconds to 14,7 seconds. The boost makes it significantly faster than the current 420 hp M3 V8 that needs 15.8 seconds for the same sprint. Road handling is improved for both the M3 E46 and Z4M with a continuously height-adjustable G-Power coil-over suspension RS with nine selectable settings each for bound and rebound. The M division sports cars are equipped with lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport tires (245/30 ZR 20 at the front and 285/25 ZR 20 at the back), allowing a top speed exceeding 300km/h or 187mph. Not included in the basic package is a sports rear muffler! Photo gallery after the jump!

Monday, June 1st, 2009

G-Power Bmw M3 TornadoThe tuning specialist G-Power has taken an interest in the latest 420hp V8 Bmw M3. Together with the new intercooler and performance exhaust system, the 4.0-liter V8’s power output has been raised to 500hp and top torque, which was originally 400Nm has been raised by 80Nm more. The tuner claims that the supercharged M3 Coupe that comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox can sprint from 0-200km/h (124mph) in only 13.5 seconds in contrast to the 15.8 seconds of the regular M3. The electronic speed limiter can be removed as per customer request, in which case the car can reach a top speed of 320km/h. Equipped also with a height-adaptable coil-over suspension with a total of nine settings for bound and rebound and tires from Michelin Pilot Sports measuring 255/30 ZR20 for the front and 295/25 ZR20 for the rear wrapped around 20 inch Silverstone alloys.
