Vintage Ferraris to be auctioned by Bonhams

1951 Ferrari 212 Export SpiderBonhams, the London-based auction firm will be staging on December 20 a sale of superb traditional and vintage Ferraris at the famous Palace Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland, featuring some tremendously uncommon competition examples. Two prized lots belong to the estate of the late Antoine Midy, a celebrated French auto collector. The celebrity of the sale is a 1955 121 LM Spyder raced by the late Phil Hill in both the 1955 Le Mans 24 Hours and the Venezuela Grand Prix. The Spyder is projected to cost $4 - $5.5 million. Furthermore, from Midy’s collection comes a 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Spyder, projected price is $2.4 million - $3.2 million. Also showing will be a 1958 250GT ‘Tour de France’ Aluminum Competition Berlinetta, with a projected price of $3.5 million - $4.3 million, a 2004 Enzo priced at $1.1 million - $1.4 million, and many others.
