Guy trades a $1.6 million Bugatti Veyron for a $100k Corvette ZR1

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Bugatti VeyronWe might say that a Texas dealer made a best deal of the decade… it just accepted the trade-in of a red and black $1.6 million Bugatti Veyron for a $100,000 Corvette ZR1.

First of all, the Bugatti can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds and has a top speed of 253 mph while the Corvette sprints to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds while the top speed achieved is 205 mph. So, honestly we can’t understand why the heck you want a ZR1 instead of a Bugatti Veyron? Apparenty, the traded-in Bugatti belonged to Carlton Beal, Jr who owns a petroleum company in Midland Texas. Sources say that he previously owned a Lamborghini Diablo and McLaren F1 but it appears that he wanted to try also an American car.

Bugatti Veyron for sale with its own transport truck

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Bugatti VeyronThere’s no better proof that the economy is still suffering than the sought-after Bugatti Veyron being sold with its own transport truck in order to make the deal more attractive. This Veyron is monochromatically decked out in French Racing Blue. Its Mercedes-Benz Atego transporter has also been painted to match it.

From the photo, we can see that the truck’s cargo box tilts back and a ramp slides out to get the supercar in with a minimum of fuss. The Bugatti is a 2007 model with 7,728 kilometers (4,800 miles) on the odometer with a matching dark blue interior. It is sold together with the matching truck on JamesList from the Netherlands for €895,000 ($1,264,815).

World’s most expensive Bugatti Veyron with F1 number plate

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

Bugatti Veyron F1 Number PlateDuring the MPH Show that features Top Gear Live at London’s Earls Court from Nov. 5 to 8, we’re willing to bet that the world’s most expensive Bugatti Veyron will be a star attraction. It even comes complete with an F1 number plate, the most expensive number plate sold in the UK. Owner Afzal Kahn says that even with an exorbitant price, it will still sell.

He’s actually suggesting that the soft white 253mph supercar will be perfect for newly crowned Formula One champion Jenson Button. This car is capable of accelerating to 100mph in 5.5 seconds. Nonetheless, this 1,010 BHP Bugatti Veyron won’t be the only outrageously expensive car to appear on the MPH Show. So far, we know that the ultra rare GTbyCITROËN, worth over £1 million, is scheduled to appear at the show alongside fire-breathing examples from Pagani and Koenigsegg. There are rumors that the Ferrari FXX, Lamborghini GT600 and Pagani Zonda R will be appearing as well. Photo gallery after the jump!

Bugatti to build a new Veyron if the Galibier doesn’t impress customers

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Bugatti Galibier 16C ConceptAccording to Bugatti insiders, we found out that the Molsheim-based manufacturer is planning to make a new Veyron if the customers are not impressed by the brand new Galibier 16C Concept, which was unveiled this week. “We could just make a new one using the Galbier’s mechanicals,” said the source. Another solution would be to build a cheaper saloon, but this might ruin the Bentley business within the VW Group. Photo gallery after the jump!

Bugatti customer sues the company for failure to deliver

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

2009 Bugatti GrandsportA Bugatti customer from Canada filed a suit against the car company for failure to deliver the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Coupe in Italian Red paintjob that he paid $1.55 million for. Barry Zekelman went to a Bugatti dealership in Troy, Michigan, and after picking out the car he wants, made an advanced payment of $427,935 in September 2008. Three months later, he wired the remaining $1,125,419 into Bugatti Troy’s bank account. The money then got forwarded to Bugatti USA, which also forwarded them to Bugatti S.A.S. On December 23, 2008, Zekelman got an email informing him that his request could not be fulfilled and that Bugatti Troy is offering him a 2008 Bugatti instead. Zekelman refused to accept. Since Bugatti S.A.S had stopped production on any 2009 models, Zekelman demanded a refund. Since no refund had been made, Zekelman filed the 6-count suit, which cites breach of contract, violation of the Michigan consumer protection act, recission count, unjust enrichment, conversion and claim and delivery. He is asking for all court and lawyer fees on top of the full refund. Maybe a good solution would be to give him the latest Bugatti Grand Sport Sang Bleu?

Bugatti Veyron production ending soon

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand SportIn 2005 Bugatti began production of its Veyron model which it claimed to build around 300 units and 150 units of the Grand Sport Roadster version. Considering the seven digit price tag attached to each unit, the figure seemed too ambitious.

There is a report, however, that puts the actual total of units built and sold to only a mere 50. One curiosity stands out since it was made public just last March that Bugatti had sold 220 cars. Considering the length of time for them to get to 220 units, its seems like a fantastic idea that they would get to 300 anytime soon. Why fantastic? Because after the production will end another masterpiece from the French manufacturer will come! Photo gallery after the jump!
