Monday, January 19th, 2009

Chevrolet Captiva Ikon EditionAfter having been on sale for just about two years, the Captiva SUV has become the figurehead of the model range of Chevrolet, something bordering that of an icon. Especially so with the introduction of the brand new edition of Captiva Ikon that provides unparalleled value for cash.

Currently available on sale, the Ikon is patterned on the well-equipped LS version implying that it will also get air conditioning, power windows, remote locking, power mirrors, a glass flip tailgate and high quality CD/stereo combo with control mounted on the steering wheel. Ikon includes smart styling touches above the standard kit valued at £3,000, with 20-inch alloys, privacy glass, exhaust tailpipe in chrome and side steps.Ikon is a front-wheel drive vehicle with a 2.4-liter gasoline or 2.0-liter diesel powerplant options with all the characteristics of the big SUV minus the related costs making it ideal for those who need a bigger vehicle without paying the premium or those who want to reduce prices while availing of style. Add to this the fact that Ikon is for sale at less than the equivalent LS version in the Captiva lineup with the 2.4-liter almost £1,000 cheaper than the gasoline LS at only £15,995 on-the-road, while the 2.0 diesel is only £16,995 offering a savings of £1,400 in contrast to the equivalent VCDi LS.
