HPP Daytona based on Dodge Challenger

Friday, November 20th, 2009

HPP Daytona Dodge ChallengerFor most people, the Dodge Challenger already looks quite retro but the tuners at Heide Performance Products have decided to emphasize that look with its HPP Daytona package. Essentially, it is a Dodge Charger Daytona re-imagined on a Challenger chassis. The HPP Daytona was first shown to the public at the SEMA Show a few weeks ago.

It is basically a Challenger R/T with the 5.7-liter HEMI that had been dolled-up a bit. Styling cues of the classic Charger were added to the new Challenger but performance wasn’t tweaked. It’s intriguing to see how the new nose cone fits perfectly with the new Challenger’s lines. The faux side details are unfortunate but its monster wings are very impressive. 2008 Essen Motor Show: Dodge Challenger SRT8 by Geigercars

Monday, December 1st, 2008

Dodge Challenger SRT8 by GeigercarsGeigerCars, not like most German tuners that usually stick with revising only the European brand, has a popular fascination with muscle cars of the American brand. The company now has taken the current Dodge Challenger and modified it, putting on extra power and making it more fashionable.

Although the production version Dodge Challenger SE sports an unassuming 250hp (186kW) V6, GeigerCars announces on its internet site that this is “totally inadequate.” For the German tuner, even the 375hp (280kW) R/T variant and the 425hp (317kW) SRT8 are both a little bit not enough, which is just as well bearing in mind that there are a few ‘Kompressorkits’ scattered about with the Geiger label. 2008 Essen Motor Show: Dodge Challenger SRT8 by Eibach

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Eibach Dodge Challenger SRT8The quarter-mile used to be dominated by American muscle-cars, even though the star cars of the 1960s and 1970s were capable of knocking down the throne just as effortlessly on windy environs. In these instances they had to acknowledge surrender to rivals which had less potency but were high on speed. However, times have changed as demonstrated by the Dodge Challenger Project Car, presented by Eibach at the Essen Motor Show 2008. This current century have witnessed the recovery of charm of the initial generation and is also more agile, with superb handling and tougher and unmerciful on its rivals.

Coming with a brawny form, its orange finish that comes with two black racing stripes, radiator grill that is set-back and the light-band moving around the back, the recent Challenger of the top SRT8 series is a reminder of the initial R/T of ‘69. The memorable debut is brought to mind by Eibach with its deliberate selection of number plates. Containing 425 HP the minimal performance of the 6.1 liter V8 engine also matches that of the iconic 426-cid Hemi engine, the most potent typical motor of the initial series. The potent two-door was imported for Eibach by USCars24.de and modified in keeping with the related German lighting and licensing rules.

2008 SEMA Show: Dodge Challenger Targa by Mopar

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Dodge Challenger Targa by MoparThe Dodge Challenger Targa is a full-scale competition racecar that battled and finished the notorious Targa Newfoundland race this year. “Samantha” began as a Mopar Challenger drag racer. Many of its features were appropriated from the Dodge Viper, but the most obvious one is the green snakeskin paint job.

To maintain the lowered position of the front end, a full-scale wind-tunnel-tested Mopar chin spoiler “Splats” was added. To accurately monitor its vital signs, Mopar gauges were utilized. The Mopar hood features a scoop to increase space for the 540hp, 490ft-lb of torque, 392 HEMI V-8 Mopar crate motor. Coupled to a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox, the engine hurls power to the rear tires through a 2009 series modified gear ratio. More photos after the jump!
