Fiat plans to boost Italian output about 40 percent

Under its restructuring scheme, Fiat S.p.A. plans to increase output in Italy to about 40% to 900,000 units annually, la Repubblica newspaper reports. La Repubblica cited speculation in Turin, Fiat’s hometown, for the report. Fiat, which owns 20% of Chrysler, plans to present the plan to unions within the next two weeks.
