Nurburgring receives the Nissan GT-R safety car

Friday, August 7th, 2009

Nissan GT-R Safety CarIt’s only fitting that the car that claims to have made the fastest lap around the Nurburging track gets to be used as the fast response vehicle for cars that get into trouble while lapping the 14-mile track. The delivery of a Nissan GT-R safety has just been made to Nurburging.

And not without controversy since rival Porsche strongly disputes Nissan’s claim of finishing the track in 7 min, 26.70 sec. To fulfill its new role, the GT-R has been modified. The back seat was taken out to make room for a tank of fire-retarding foam, while there’s now also a roll cage and carbonfiber Recaro sports seats. A fire hose is also stored in the boot. No Paris Motor Show for the Nissan GT-R V-Spec

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Nissan Gt-R V-SpecFew months ago Nissan announced that the GT-R V-Spec will be officially unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show but nothing happened.

Due to this we looked for an answer and this came very quick: the new Nissan GT-R V-Spec will make its official debut at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. The reason is simple, the Japanese manufacturer wants to sale more Nissan GT-R vehicles, because if the new V-Spec will be introduced, everybody will focus on the new version. The new V-Spec will feature a new braking system, lowered suspension, new carbon-fiber accessories (due to this the car will drop 250 kg) and more power, up to 530 hp.
