Due to their success in China and India, Hyundai Motor Co. and affiliate Kia Motors Corp. have set their combined 2010 sales target at 5.39 million vehicles, up 16 percent from the estimated sales this year, according to a report from Maeil Business Newspaper.
The newspaper, which cited a company insider, said that Hyundai-Kia has recently revised its global sales target after taking into account the strength of its sales in China and India. However, a Hyundai Motor spokesman stated that the sales target has yet to be decided. Hyundai and Kia, together the world’s No. 4 automaker based on the first-half sales, aim to grow at twice the market rate in China next year, the president of Beijing Hyundai said.
