Report: Nissan LEAF launch to be helped by electric company

Nissan North America Inc.’s campaign to sell electric vehicles had just gotten the support of the CEO of one of America’s biggest electric utility companies. David Crane, CEO of NRG Energy Inc. of Princeton, N.J., which is an electricity provider in cities throughout the country, wants to play a role in Nissan’s goal.
Crane proposes to send marketing materials for the upcoming electric Nissan Leaf with customers’ monthly electric bills. Since the company also sends monthly statements out to 1.5 million customers in the Houston area, there’s a lot of marketing potential, according to Crane in an interview with Automotive News.
