Seat to decide on the future of the Tribu Concept

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Seat Tribu ConceptIf you were already waiting for the production version of the Seat Tribu Concept, you’d better hold your horses because the Spanish manufacturer still has to decide if the vehicle will ever be produced.

For those folks who don’t know, the Seat Tribu Concept was a direct competitor to the Toyota RAV4 and was designed by ex-Lamborghini designer Luc Donckerwolke. “We haven’t decided on the future of the Tribu yet. The project is on ice at the moment and we’ve got to wait and see what happens with the economic situation and whether we can make a business case for it” said a Seat source. If the production will be approved, then the place to assemble the new crossover will definitely be Seat’s Martorell factory (the same factory which will build the upcoming Audi Q3), making it more productive.

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

2010 Seat Ibiza SCVolkswagen AG’s Seat brand had been one of those hit hard by the economic downturn but lately, it has reported a small rise in its new-car sales in October due mainly to government incentives in its home Spanish market and Germany. Seat Leon Coupe in the works

Friday, October 16th, 2009

2010 Seat LeonAs you may know already, Volkswagen wants to achieve the same success with Seat as it did with its own cars and this can be seen from models such as the Golf RLeon Cupra R or the Ibiza – Polo. The latest move from the Spanish manufacturer will be the creation of a new coupe, based on the stylish Scirocco.

According to Seat sales and marketing boss Jan Lafrentz, a design proposal already exists for this car which could go on sale as soon as winter 2011. “We see Leon and Ibiza as the two main pillars of our product line-up, and it makes sense for us to expand them as much as possible. A C-segment coupe is much more easy to package than a B-segment coupe, and would be more profitable for us. The Scirocco has done great things for Volkswagen, and I believe this car could do even greater things for us.” added Jan Lafrentz.
