Volkswagen Passat CC to be manufactured in China as Magotan CC

China is getting a whole lot of attention from Volkswagen. In fact, Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, said that China is “one of the most important markets in the world.”

Starting in 2010 in China , Volkswagen will begin production of the Passat CC, which will then be locally known as Magotan CC. VW’s Chinese partner FAW Group will be handling the production. Although the specs to the car have yet to be disclosed, a source who spoke to China Car Times said that it may be equipped with a 1.8 TSI or 2.0 TSI that would also be built in the Chinese factories. The existing Passat CC has a price of $73,200 and is offered with a 3.6-liter engine and an all-wheel drive configuration. Continued after the jump!

Volkswagen presents new accessories for the Passat CC

Accessories for the Passat CC, the “Best of the Best” title-holder and “red dot design award” winner are now available. Three words can describe the package: elegant, sporty, and dynamic. You can choose from a wide selection of design-oriented, perfectly fitting Volkswagen Genuine Accessories products. To improve aerodynamics, get the front spoiler. It provides the elegant lines of the Passat CC front with a sporty note while optimizing the aerodynamics and reducing aerodynamic drag. The seamlessly adapted side skirt set emphasizes the side profile of the four-door coupé and creates a visual contrast to the distinct shoulder line – the tornado line. The rear spoiler creates an extension of the luggage compartment lid, optimizes the overall sporty appearance and reduces the tail lift. The high-gloss rear strip in chrome effect provides a visual accent while simultaneously protecting the rim of the luggage compartment. Drivers can enter their Passat CC in style with the stainless steel sill protector with 3D Passat lettering. 2008 SEMA: Volkswagen Passat CC Gold Coast Edition

After the Super CC Performance Concept, Volkswagen brought another vehicle to the SEMA Show: the CC Gold Coast Edition. Based on the same Passat CC, the vehicle features a new tri-coat paint, a new front lip spoiler, new side sills, small but stylish rear trunk spoiler and a new set of 19-inch Lugano alloy wheels.

At the interior the vehicle comes with four ergonomically formed sport seats wrapped in luxurious leather a combination of Latte Macchiatto, Cornsilk with Bronze Piping on the seats with matching accents on the dash and door trim.

Under the hood, the 3.6-liter V6 engine develops 280 hp and 360 Nm of torque and is connected to a DSG double-clutch 6-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic. In order to stop the car in time, Vw added also a new set of R8 Ceramic brakes while for a better stability a new Kw coil over suspension has been installed. Pricing of the vehicle will be under $27,000 or €21,100. Photos after the jump!
