This is the first image that has ever been released of the strength, elegance and speed of the MF5 Roadster manufactured by German sports carmaker Wiesmann. It’s set to make its world debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
We’ve gotten wind that the new handcrafted sports car will cost 189,500 euros (German price including tax), but the date of when it will be available in the market is still unknown. Wiesmann’s latest addition to the range will be produced in a limited edition of 55 units. The new Roadster has a BMW V10 engine that develops 507 hp and 520 Nm of torque. Incidentally, the front-mounted V10 mid-engine with three-way catalytic converter, petrol injection, stainless steel twin exhaust pipes, is the same unit that was fitted on the GT version of the Wiesmann MF5. The powerplant, mated to a 7-speed SMG transmission, allows the car to sprint from zero to 60 in 3.9 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph). More details will come so check back with us. Photo after the jump!
