Tata Nano hybrid in the works
Hybrid versions of the Nano (the world’s cheapest car) are being planned by India’s Tata Group. In an interview with a South Korean newspaper, Maeil Business Newspaper, Ratan Tata chairman of the Tata Group said that low-priced goods would lead to a rise in demand than high-end products in India.
Tata says that the so-called low-price revolution would continue globally. Tata Motors Ltd., India’s biggest vehicle maker and owner of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands, claims that the car industry’s future relied on economic-friendly models. More details on the cheap hybrid versions have yet to be revealed. In India, the Nano (priced at about $2,000) had its first delivery last July.
