A right-hand drive version of the Roadster will be launched in the UK in 2010, Tesla has confirmed. The electric sportscar is currently only available in left-hand drive. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that a re-engineered right-hand drive version will be arriving early next year. Musk added that the cost of the change to right-hand drive was not prohibitive. Tesla is also planning a more powerful Sport version of the Tesla Roadster. Aside from the UK, the right-hand drive Roadster would also be available in Japan, India, and Australia. In other news, Tesla received a $465 million state loan to create its upcoming seven-seat Model S saloon model. A portion of the loan is set aside to build an electric-powertrain manufacturing plant to make units that will be sold to other carmakers.
