Tesla Roadster breaks the electric production car record

Tesla Roadster Record
313 miles with one charge, that's what it took for a Tesla Roadster to break the record for distance traveled by an electric production car. Australian Simon Hackett and co-driver Emilis Prelgauskas joined the Global Green Challenge and were able to cover 313 miles, using their previous experience as flying gliders. Hackett said that they applied the same energy conservation techniques to their driving. Interestingly, another Tesla Roadster, which completed a 241-mile road rally, had held the record previously. Hackett and Prelgauskas completed the unofficial record in Australia between Alice Springs and the Northern Territory . Upon reaching the 500km mark, they still had an estimated 3 miles of charge remaining.
