In the second quarter, the Norwegian automaker halted production at its factory in Aurskog, near Oslo, due to the economic downturn. Think had been compelled to raise $47 million in capital this summer to exit court protection in Norway and Valmet was one of its investors. Deliveries of the City full-electric car are expected to start before Christmas. A majority of these units are intended for government-sponsored fleets with cities in Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The order bank stands at around 2,300 vehicles. Its first priority is to deliver to these customers now that it has begun to produce these vehicles again. In a statement, CEO Richard Canny said that its next priority would be to build on this order book with continued expansion in Europe and around the world. [via autonews - sub. required]
