2013 Ford Mondeo HEV

At the “Go Further” brand event, Ford unveiled the next-generation Mondeo but that wasn’t the only addition to its lineup as the manufacturer also unveiled the Mondeo HEV, brand’s first hybrid passenger car for Europe. This model is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine teamed with a 35kW lithium-ion battery, in order to deliver a better fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions. In terms of design, the new Modeo features company’s new design language, seen also on the new Fiesta, and as a premiere, the Mondeo is the first Ford to feature headlamps with LED high-beam, low-beam and signal lighting. According to the official press release, these headlamps are quicker to illuminate, more durable and more energy-efficient than traditional filament bulb headlamps. Moreover, the headlamps turn with the steering and adapt beam projection to vehicle speed. Inside, the car promises to deliver unprecedented levels of ergonomics and comfort as it features soft-touch materials and premium finishes. The interior will also feature segment-first SYNC with MyFord Touch a voice-activated in-car connectivity system that delivers an eight-inch colour touchscreen and the ability to act as a WiFi hotspot for up to five devices. In terms of safety, the car has all the systems it needs but and we find the new rear inflatable seatbelts.
