2013 Tokyo Motor Show: Suzuki unveils the X-Lander Concept

Article by Christian A., on October 29, 2013

At the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Suzuki will bring the X-Lander Concept, a real 4WD hybrid with a distinctive personality. According to the Japanese manufacturer, the new concept was created for drivers that use their car in the city and sometimes want to go out to play in the field.

Based on the Jimny, the X-Lander Concept is a compact 4WD vehicle powered by a 1.3-liter engine and a newly developed automatically controlled manual transmission.

Thanks to the compact lightweight hybrid system that features a highly-efficient motor built onto a 4WD system, the X-Lander achieves both up-to-date environmental performance and excellent running performance.

In terms of design, the Suzuki X-Lander Concept looks just like a toy car, with stylish headlights, a front grille that features the Suzuki logo in the center, small windshield with stylish side mirrors as well as an interesting bar that offers protection for the passengers. [source: Suzuki]
