Caterham is bringing three models to the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show: the Superlight R300 EU4, the CSR 175 EU4, and the Roadsport EU4. British specialist sports car manufacturer Caterham said that Japan has been one of its biggest export markets. In fact, Caterham was selling more than 100 cars a year in Japan in the 1990s. Managing director Ansar Ali, who had announced the display lineup, said that the company is aiming to push sales up again.

Caterham now has an importer that Ali says, is doing great work from their Tokyo office. Its retail network in Japan has more than 15 dealers. Of the three cars mentioned, the most intriguing is the CSR 175, which has yet to be detailed by Caterham.

The Tokyo Motor Show has encountered setbacks lately with the pulling out of major carmakers. Caterham is among the few European manufacturers to attend. The participation will also help promote Premium Cars Import (PCI), the company's new importer to the country.
