Toyota FT-86 Concept
Toyota announced today the FT-86 Concept, a new compact rear-wheel-drive sports car that will be showcased at this year's Tokyo Motor Show. The FT-86 ("86" pronounced "hachi roku") follows the same design lines as the FT-HS Concept and promises to provide driving joy and excitement. According to the manufacturer, the compact design of the concept gives the drivers a better control, while body's lightness and low center of gravity allow racecar-like handling. Under the hood we find a 2-liter boxer engine but Toyota did not release any detailed regarding the power of the vehicle. The Flash Red body color also comes with something new: it contains hints of blue. Inside we find a brand new design which expresses modern feel with minimal coverage of the highly refined structural components evoking enthusiasm for cruising¹. Regarding the dimensions of the car, this measures 4,160 mm in length, has a width of 1,760 mm, a height of 1,260 mm and a wheelbase seating which measures 2,570 mm.
