Torsten Muller-Otvos is the new Rolls-Royce CEO

BMW appointed Torsten Muller-Otvos to replace Tom Purves who will soon retire as CEO for Rolls-Royce. Muller-Otvos has been working for the BMW Group for the past 20 years and has held several management positions in the Sales and Marketing Division. One of the most notable aspects in his career had been when he was put in charge of re-launching the MINI brand. In 2004, he became responsible for central Group marketing and brand management and since April 2008, he has been running BMW's global product management. Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW, announced the appointment.

Robertson described Muller Otvos having many years of solid experience in the fields of brand and product management as well as marketing, making him the perfect candidate to lead Rolls-Royce Motor Cars into a period of expansion. He emphasized that Muller-Otvos as not only having an impressive track record as a manager, but as also having a feel for the unique attributes of a traditional brand. Purves replaced Ian Robertson as CEO of Rolls Royce in 2008, after being president of BMW North America for nine years.
