Toyota green lights dealerships to resume sales of recalled models

2010 Toyota TundraToyota retailers can go right back to selling the cars affected by the recall again as long as they have the repair parts for them. Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. has given its retailers the go signal to do what they can to get beyond the most massive recall in history. At Toyota Sunnyvale in northern California, upgrades were made on the eight models that the carmaker recalled. In an interview with Automotive News, Adam Simms, president of Toyota Sunnyvale, said that traffic is building in the showroom again. He said that the dealership had many of these recalled models pre-sold. Currently, the dealership is getting in touch with customers in order to deliver the cars. He remained optimistic about the sales volume quickly getting back to levels before the announcement of the recall. Eight of Toyota‚ most popular models were placed under a ‚Äústop-sale‚Äù as Toyota made moves to repair the 2.3 million vehicles recalled due to a sticky accelerator pedal.
