Recently, Toyota opened a brand new Toyota Certified Used Hybrid (TCUH) program which is an extension of the Toyota Certified Used Vehicles (TCUV) brand which aims at providing extra inspection and warranty coverage on Toyota certified used hybrids. This program is intended to provide customers of used fuel-efficient hybrids a high-quality alternative as more and more of these vehicles enter the used vehicles market, while at the same time also expanding Toyota's customer base. The program includes vehicles with the three-month or 3,000-mile comprehensive warranty, a seven-year or 100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty and roadside assistance plan which is provided for the standard TCUV versions. It also offers more awareness to a pre-existing 8-year /100,000-mile factory hybrid warranty. Quality insurance inspection for the TCUH adds 14 inspection points to the present 160-point quality assurance inspection of the TCUV. This extended 174-point inspection includes the inspection of main hybrid components including the transaxle, control modules and batteries. The Toyota program offers a "like-new" ownership experience, peace of mind and smart alternative for customers who want a new vehicle at the value of a used one.
