The Japanese carmaker Toyota is extending the range of the mini for the very first time since the iQ was released with a new 1.33-liter gasoline powerplant that we previewed at the Geneva Motor Show. Coming with a Dual VVT-I control of both intake and exhaust valves, the four-cylinder unit generates 100hp maximum power output attained at 6000rpm and top torque of 125Nm attained at 4,400rpm enough to propel the iQ3 from 0-62mph (100km/h) in 11.8 seconds when equipped with the standard 6-speed manual gearbox. This is lowered to 11.6 seconds when the car is equipped with the optional Multidrive CVT transmission.

The car reaches a maximum speed of 106mph (171km/h). It also comes with the fuel-saving Stop-Start system. The fuel consumption rating of the iQ3 is claimed by officially by Toyota to be 58.9mpg UK (4.8liters/100km) or 49.0mpg US in the combined cycle. Carbon dioxide emission is pegged at 113g/km or 120g/km with the CVT.

The price of the iQ3 in the UK begins at 11,495 Pounds ($18,650) for the 6-speed manual variant, while the Multidrive gets a 12,495 Pound sticker price. Included in the standard equipment of the iQ3 are nine airbags, automatic headlights and wipers, six-speaker audio system, climate control, electric folding and heated door mirrors, auto-dimming rear view mirror and Smart Entry and Start.
