The battle between the Japanese and American cars gets more heated as standings to the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS) race continue to be watched closely. This week, Toyota surpassed its runner-up General Motors by almost 1%. Toyota was named the car of choice for 18.9% of CARS buyers while GM stood at 17.6%. The top two are trailed by Ford, with 15.4%, Honda with 12.9% and Chrysler with 9.1%. The top five amounts to 73.9% of all cars sold under CARS. The most wanted vehicle is the Toyota Corolla; followed by Honda Civic and Ford Focus. Toyota's Camry and its Prius rounds up the fourth and fifth, respectively. On the opposite end, the most traded-in vehicles are: Ford Explorer 4WD, Ford F-150 2WD, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Cherokee and Ford Explorer. American vehicles are unmistakably losing as they´re being traded in and replaced with Japanese vehicles.
