Toyota RAV4 gets new diesel engine from Avensis

For those of you who are saving-money oriented, Toyota prepared a special diesel version for the RAV4, ready to be released on the market this autumn. The new RAV4 gets a 2.2L D4-D engine, capable of 150 hp, and 6-speed both manual and automatic transmissions from the Avensis. It is a first for a diesel RAV4 to receive a self-shifter 6-speed automatic which in addition features a sports mode for a more adventurous drive. As an option, it can also be available a se sequential manual mode called Sports Direct Shift, which includes a blipping feature. The new line reinvented the use of the 2-wheel-drive RAV4 featuring a 2L petrol engine and 6-speed manual gearbox, available only in XT-R trim, including also leather, smart entry and start, heated front seats and electrically adjustable driver's seat. At the exterior the new range is updated with new front bumper, grille, headlights, front fog lights, rear light clusters, and fresh 17-inch alloys. The standard equipment will include air-conditioning, Bluetooth, automatic wipers and headlights, six-CD changer, MP3 input and heated retractable mirrors.
