Toyota recalls two 2010 Tundra pick-ups

2010 Toyota TundraDue to a defect in the front propeller shaft, Toyota has issued a recall of two 2010 Tundra pick-ups, according to a report from insideline.com. With only two cars recalled, this could easily be the smallest recall ever. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration cited the possibility that there is an improper weld at the union of the propeller shaft and yoke. As a result, this joint has a risk of separating. When the separated shaft comes into contact with the road surface, the driver could lose control of the car, potentially leading to a crash. Toyota said that 500 2010 Toyota Tundra pick-ups were kept at the factory in late October to repair the defects. Just two vehicles that have the parts related to the recall were delivered to its dealers and sold. Toyota said that it is in the process of getting in touch with both owners. The recall is believed to begin this month. [via autonews - sub. required]
