An investigation is being conducted by a U.S. trade panel, which resolves patent disputes, over allegations that Toyota Motor Corp. infringed patented technology owned by Paice LLC to make hybrid cars. Earlier this week, the International Trade Commission received a motion from Paice asking to bar Toyota from making and importing hybrid cars, says Autonews. Also named in the suit are Toyota Motor North America and Toyota Motor Sales. Toyota is the world's largest automaker and the global leader in mass-market hybrid car sales, with the Prius its signature model.
