Recently Toyota has revealed that there will be a total of 500 new-generation plug in Priuses that will operate in Japan, Europe and the US by next year. The first wave of the new generation Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Priuses will first hit Strasbourg, with succeeding test waves to reach communities in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. The Japanese carmaker will be testing PHEV Priuses that can interact with the grid, unlike the first-generation Chevy Volts. Toyota said that this is the right time to put the Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (PHV) through its paces. Thus, the Prius will be tested in different markets with unique infrastructure limitations, driving environments and customer demands.
