Toyota to present Etios Concept at the New Dehli Motor Show

Last week we announced the debut of a new Toyota Concept Car at the New Dehli Motor Show. At that time nobody knew what name the car will carry, but it appears that Autocar clearly knows something: the new car is going to be called Etios, which means the origin of. Also, the new car is not going to be a rival for the popular Tata Nano, as Toyota is planning to sell it with a price tag of around $10,000. Instead, the new car is going to be a rival for the best-selling cars on price, the Maruti Swift. The concept which will be unveiled in New Dehli promises to be 90 per cent production reality and it will come in two versions, hatch and notchback body styles. Under the hood, the vehicle will offer two engines, a 1.4-liter diesel, found also on the Yaris and an 1.2 or 1.3-litre petrol. The car will be sold not just in India, but also in Russia and South America.
