Toyota will present redesigned Lexus GS, Scion FT-86 at New York Auto Show

There are two big debuts that Toyota will be making at the New York Auto Show, according to a reliable source. Notably, not one will get a Toyota Motor Company badge. The first is a fully redesigned Lexus GS. It’s not clear if what Toyota will display in the New York show would be a concept or a production model; however, it will be built on an all-new platform that will be shared with the next-generation IS expected to arrive in 2012.
Ever since the current GS arrived in the market in 2005, it has had steady sales but still requires a refresh.
The redesigned GS will get the same V6 and V8 powerplants. So far, there has not been any confirmation if an F variant or the 450h hybrid will be carried over.
There is also a rumor that Scion will display its own version of the FT-86 to the auto show.
This is another concept vehicle that’s similar to the version seen at the Geneva Motor Show but given new badges and a few style modifications. [via autoblog]
