2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe by Prior Design

Article by Christian A., on December 27, 2010

Prior Design is offering a new aerodynamic kit for the Mercedes E-Class Coupe. The exterior pack features a new front bumper with side vents and a spoiler blade, a set of side skirts that give the impression of a lowered vehicle, a rear bumper extension with three fins, a boot lid spoiler lip, as well as a roof spoiler.

These three rear-end destined components are also available in carbon fiber. PriorDesign fitted the vehicle with a lowering suspension that lowers it by 35 mm as well as a set of 20-inch alloy rims.

The wheels are offered in matt black, gloss black and silver. Customers will be asked to choose between a tail pipe on the left and a full sports four-pipe stainless steel system. All of these modifications made on the coupe were also made on the topless version of the E-Klasse.

The designers at PRIOR DESIGN have come up trumps just in time for the New Year with a customised body kit for the new E-Class Coupé.

Following on from their body kit for the CLK W209, the designers from Kamp-Lintfort have now come up with further impressive evidence of their exceptionally skilled eye for the sporting contours and perfect proportions of cars of the Mercedes-Benz marque.

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé is an example of what the Mercedes-Benz premium brand has been known for – efficiency and glamour. As a starter, the new Mercedes E-Class Coupé represents the sporty side of the E-Class's dynamic design, especially with the absence of B-pillars and fully retractable side windows.

Moreover, Mercedes E-Class Coupé is considered as the most aerodynamic variant of the Coupé. With a drag coefficient of just 0.24 Cd, the E-Class Coupé is basically the most aerodynamically efficient series-production car in the world. It is powered by a range of engines that include two new 4-cylinder powerplants that eke more output and torque but are still 17-percent more fuel efficient.

As standard, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé is equipped with the AGILITY CONTROL suspension that could automatically adjust to the current driving situation, thereby presenting a good blend of superb handling, optimal comfort and remarkable driving enjoyment.

Furthermore, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé comes with all the technical innovations of the new E-Class series that drivers might want to be in a sports-oriented luxury coupé like the Active Bonnet, selective damper control, drowsiness detection and preventive occupant protection as well as Adaptive Main Beam Assist and an automatic emergency braking system.

Amazingly, Mercedes offers the Coupé-exclusive Dynamic Driving package that features different suspension setups with just a press of a button. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé will arrive in showrooms across the United Kingdom starting June 2009.

Press Release

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe Prior Design

The designers at PRIOR DESIGN have come up trumps just in time for the New Year with a customised body kit for the new E-Class Coupé. Following on from their body kit for the CLK W209, the designers from Kamp-Lintfort have now come up with further impressive evidence of their exceptionally skilled eye for the sporting contours and perfect proportions of cars of the Mercedes-Benz marque.

The front of what is fundamentally a very elegant coupé has been given a new bumper with side vents and a spoiler blade. A set of side sills that, from a visual perspective, perfectly connect the car’s front and rear have been used to create the impression of a lowered outline. At the back there is a rear bumper extension with three fins, a spoiler lip for the boot, and a roof edge spoiler, with all three components also available in genuine carbon fibre as an option.

The visual effect is greatly enhanced by the new PRIOR GT wheel rims, fitted as 8.5 x 20-inch wheels at the front and 9.5 x 20-inch wheels at the rear. Together with the in-house lowering by 35 millimetres, they ensure that the wheel arches are filled perfectly. The PRIOR GT rims are available in matt black, gloss black and silver.

With regard to the exhaust system, the customer has the choice between a tail pipe on the left and a complete sports 4-pipe exhaust system in stainless steel. The exhaust system is, of course, MADE IN GERMANY, as are all the other parts of the body kit.

It is also worth mentioning that all the parts of this conversion kit also fit the convertible version of the E-Class. PRIOR DESIGN offers a range of trim parts in carbon for the interior.

PRIOR DESIGN offers various increased performance options on site of up to 55 kW / 75 bhp depending on the engine version.
