2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class receives AMG sports package

A new AMG sports pack that comes with sporty and dynamic elements, will be now available for the latest Mercedes-Benz E-Class, although some of these will not be individually available. The sports package is compatible with all powerplant variants and all E-Class range of design and equipment.

The body styling package, which enhances sporty appearance and evoke greater emotional attraction, comes with an AMG front apron with integrated large air intakes, attractive side skirts and a rear apron.

Other striking features consist of the newly completed 18-inch AMG light alloys finished in high-shine sterling silver and clothed with 245/40 R 18 broad-base rubber for the front and 265/35 R 18 rubber for the rear.

Also included in the sports pack are perforated brake discs and calipers in silver finish coming with the MB logo at the front, including the DIRECT CONTROL suspension which was lowered by 15mm. Also included in the package are standard Sports seats and sports steering wheel with DIRECT SELECT shift paddles.

The interior package comes with impressive combination of sportiveness and style with optimized curves and remarkable lateral support at speed cornering for the front sports seat, a combination of DINAMICA microfiber/ARTICO synthetic leather with light colored, double decorative seams for its upholstery, door armrests and center console all provide a touch of improved interior car quality.

Further interior features included in the AMG sports package are floor mats that come with the AMG letters, sports pedals of brushed stainless steel complete with rubber studs, a shift lever in nappa leather highlighted with chrome, and a three spoke AMG sports steering wheel.

DIRECT SELECT shift paddles shift gears manually for models that come with automatic transmission in addition the AMG sports pack also comes with the manual transmission mode.

Available at the launch of the latest E-Class in March, cost for the sports package, which ranges between 2915 Euros to 4046 Euros inclusive of a 19 percent VAT, is contingent on the version of the engine and the range of equipment and design.
