Brabus was guided by the Style & Performance principle during its program to take the new Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster further. To this effect, the SLS roadster is provided with an aerodynamic-enhancement kit made of from clear-coated carbon fiber, a comfortable sport suspension and lightweight Brabus forged wheels.
In addition, Brabus tuned the engine of the SLS AMG Roadster to allow it to produce up to 611 hp (600 bhp/ 448 kW) of output and matched this with a high-performance titanium exhaust system with electronic sound management.
Likewise, Brabus customized the interior according to the customer’s personal preferences.
On the other hand, Brabus provided the SLS Roadster with the Brabus Ride Control smooth-ride suspension that it developed in collaboration with Bilstein. Brabus Ride Control could lower the SLS Roadster’s ride height by up to 40 mm (1.6 inches).
Drivers -- with just a press of a button on the center console – could adjust the damper settings to make the Brabus-modified SLS Roadster more comfortable or sportier ride than a conventional model. Customers may also upgrade the sport suspension and the production suspension of the SLS Roadster with the Brabus Front Lift System, which – through a hydraulics system – could raise the car’s front end by 50 mm (2.0 inches) in a few seconds.
This means that the SLS Roadster, after a push of a button, could now easily and safely traverse speed bumps or parking garage ramps. A second push of the button would revert the suspension back to its original position, which would also initiate automatically once the SLS Roadster reaches a speed of 30 km/h (19 mph). The SLS Roadster is also equipped with an integrated butterfly valve that could provide a sound management option as controlled by the driver.
Two sound settings are available: 'Sport' that allows for more exciting exhaust audio, and 'Coming Home' that provides a discreet and deliberately soft note. Thanks to Brabus B63 S tuning, the eight-cylinder engine could now provide 611 hp (600 bhp/448 kW) of max output, up from the standard 571 hp (563 bhp/420 kW).
