At the NADA Convention, Hurst Performance announced that it is working on a new version of the RAM 1500. This limited edition version is expected to use the HEMI Hauler name. Technology and aesthetic upgrades will be added to the 2011 Regular Cab Sport R/T RAM 1500, the base for the project.
Nate Shelton, President and Chairman of Hurst Performance Vehicles, said that in the past, the company has mentioned a plan to make a high-performance truck. But it’s only now that its dealer network has generated enough customer interest to make this project feasible.
Its performance modifications include a supercharger and a polished custom exhaust for the truck's 5.7 liter HEMI V8 mill. Hurst graphics will be placed on the driver and passenger side fenders, doors and bed.
Hurst badges will be placed on the grill and tailgate and there will also be a custom finish for the interior spokes of the factory 22-inch forged aluminum rims.
For the interior, the vehicle gets red stitching for the upholstery, embroidered Hurst logos on the headrests, Hurst's signature "Pistol-Grip" billet aluminum anodized shifter, a metallic dash plaque, as well as Hurst-embroidered floor mats.
Only 50 of these custom trucks will be offered to the worldwide market each year, with each unit coming with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and signatures in the cab from the Hurst Team.
